Pakistani evening 14 Oct. 19.30

Dear friends,

Next Tuesday (14th October) we will be having a cultural evening, focusing on the Pakistani culture. During the evening we will have the usual games available: table tennis, Wii, table football etc. The evening will begin at 19:30 and will finish at approximately 22:00.

The food will mainly be curry-based (spicy!) and vegatarian options will be available. Food will be served at 20:15, followed by a brief talk on Pakistani culture (including some content on Christianity in Pakistan) and then dessert will be served.

Please e-mail us to let us know if you are coming as all food is being home-made and preparations will have to be made for the amount of people being catered for.

Hope to see you on Tuesday!

We had some yummy cream tea!

Many attendants from this event told me they enjoyed the cream tea very much afterwards, especially the clotted cream. If this is your first visit to England from the far East, you might find many types of cream in this country. Here's the basic definition of different types of cream: (Wikipedia)

We had a great re-opening night!

On Sept 30th, Café International officially re-opened with a welcome buffet and talk on British culture on 30 Sept. We all had great fun and learnt a lot about British culture. I met many friends from my home country, and felt excited to see people from other parts of the world such as China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, etc. It was great to hear those new international students' expectations about their life in England and studies. I was like that 2 years ago! ;)

We'll have a traditional English Cream Tea evening next time! Can't wait!!

Cafe team warm up!

After a few months break, we were back to the Cafe tonight. We were very excited, but I missed my friends from Cafe who have gone back to their home countries. From this term, we have Keith and Matt with us. We're looking forward to working with them. We had great fun chatting and playing games such as table tennis - around the table, and Wii game (Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games.)

I enjoy working with these lovely people again, and welcome Keith and Matt. Hope you enjoy it, too.
